Spring is in the air - yipee!!!

It's not spring yet. but we are being teased with it. Today we reached temps over 70F, yesterday in the 60's - BUT it is Wisconsin as they say (although I think most states have that same slogan - wait 5 min and it will change) - and starting tomorrow the temps are gradually going down again until we might be a rain/snow mix this weekend. Oh well, we are enjoying it while we can. I remember many of St. Patty's Day with a blizzard so I am thankful for this spring tease. Have windows open and love the fresh air.

Green and snow in backyard

Snow is almost gone by garage

Finally the driveway is free of ice -- going down

coming up---

except for a small patch of 'ice rink' at the entrance.

Pretty soon I will be able to drive up this road

The dogs and I took another walk today. Lily and Eb keep bugging me by early afternoon to go for a "W".

When walking by the pine trees at the end of the driveway there is such a wonder scent of fresh pine - I LOVE IT!

Water running down the side of the road from melting snow
If I didn't have a house already full of pine cones I could have picked up a nice bagful. Gotta stop sometime I guess, so I did the next best thing - I just took pix of them this time.

Jan's barn is as beautiful as ever, couldn't resist another snapshot.

And my love of trees! Yeah, more pictures of them too. In a very short time they will be full of green leaves.

In the woods the snow melted around the tree bases first
Sumac in the winter

You can tell the snow has just melted with the grasses lying down flat. In a month or two they will be tall and green.

It is extremely windy out today. Can you see the leaves blowing on the trees?

The leaves are swirling around in the wind!
Casualty! It broke a couple weeks ago when I was filling it but I was able to get it full and standing tall, UNTIL today's wind. Squirrels sure will be happy, the tubes were over 1/2 full each.

Hope you enjoy some Spring weather - Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
